Sensory Heaven™

gothtistic-stims:

I really wanna start a business that’s basically a stim toy library. You pay a small fee for a membership ( because how else would it make enough money to stay in business?) and it allows you to test out different stim toys! You can check them out like you would a library book, and if you like the toy enough, you can purchase it! If not, just return it! Not only that, but the environment would be by autistics, for autistics. Different rooms for different sensory needs: a room with dim lights, a room with some scented candles burning, a room with soft instrumental music playing, and each room would also have books (which could also be checked out or bought)! The books and stim toys could be donated by people, that way the prices could be super low and affordable! And on top of all that, it could have a café that sells autism/ neurodivergent pride themed goodies (cookies with rainbow infinity frosting, cupcakes with red frosting, coffee/tea [ because warm drinks could add to the cozy aesthetic])! There could also be informational pamphlets that could properly educate people about autism! There would be little nooks for reading, stimming, or just chilling out, complete with fun sensory chairs like fluffy beanbags and video rockers! The overall environment would be calm, peaceful, and accepting! You want to sit and rock? Go for it! That’s 100% normal here! The name of the library would be something like Sensory Heaven™, and omg I’m stimming excitedly just thinking about it! It’s too late to change my major this semester, but !!! I might change my major next semester to business so I can learn how to go about opening up this library!

Omg I would love that!!!! Maybe someone could like work with a normal library to do it…
Now I’m gonna be thinking about how to do this all day omggggg

Dark Undereye Circle Remedies

herhighnessthequeen:

Okay a couple of y'all have requested this one, so enjoy dolls💞

1. Massage the area around your eyes to boost circulation and return some blood flow to your eyes.
2. Place the smooth end of cold spoons onto your eyes, or lay a cold washcloth over your eyes for 10-15 minutes.
3. Apply rose water to your undereyes with a cotton ball or washcloth.
4. Dip some tea bags (I’ve heard green tea works best) in cool water and place them onto your eyes.
5. Hydrate: drinking water boosts your general complexion.
6. Get lots of sleep.
7. Place cool cucumber slices over your eyes for 10-15 minutes.
8. Place raw potato slices over your eyes for 10-15 minutes.
9. Using your fingertips or a cotton ball, dab some almond oil onto your undereyes.
10. If you’re in need of a quick fix, you can use makeup to color correct. Use a yellow/orange/pink concealer first, and blend (this will cancel out blue and purple undertones under your eyes). Then, blend your normal skin colored concealer on top, and apply your normal foundation and powder.
11. Moisturizing your skin, and paying attention to your undereyes as well, can help prevent and get rid of undereye bags. Eye creams can also help target bags specifically.

You: *has cucumber over your eyes* Me, a missourian: *has potatoes over my eyes* In all seriousness though, my grandma’s potatoe crop this year has been huge, I’m gonna get some and have a Missouri spa day yeet @badpixeldolls I feel like you would appriciate the potato

Say no to stereotypes, be happy everyday! [x]

Cant reblog this enough

I love that this shows both sides, how society is ingrained to see women as baby-makers and men as walking wallets who’s only worth is if they make good cash. Both are equally demeaning and limiting in different ways.

大家好!Hello everybody!

My blog 每天中文 meitianzhongwen recently reached 1700 followers, which is more than I could ever have dreamed of having. When I made this blog I just wanted to put more Mandarin related content out on this website since there really wasn’t much, but I wouldn’t have been able to to it without the constant support I’ve received from each and every one of you!

So, as a way of expressing my thanks, I wanted to put together a giveaway for my followers. There will be two different packages you can get (one for beginners and one for intermediate learners), so I’ll put the rules for entering below.

How to enter:

  • You must be following me. This giveaway is my way of thanking everyone who has followed me and helped support me since I started this blog
  • You must reblog this post (likes will only serve as a bookmark)
  • you must tell me which package you want to put your name in for (you can do this through an ask, a message, or when you reblog, as long as I get this info it’s fine)

Package One: Beginner

image

Includes:

  • A copy of 画儿上的美人 The Lady in the Painting, a book written in Mandarin using only 300 characters. It has footnotes for vocabulary and a word index in the back of the book. There is also a page that lists which 300 characters are used in the book ordered by stroke number (the book in the picture is my personal copy bc the one i ordered is taking a really long time to ship)
  • A pack of Zebra Midliner highlighters
  • a notebook

Package Two: Intermediate

image

Includes:

  • A copy of McGraw-Hill’s Intermediate Classic Chinese Reader, which contains a large selection of classical poetry, fables, idiom stories, myths, folk stories, an excerpt from each of the four classic novels, and two excerpts from modern Chinese plays
  • A pack of Zebra Midliner highlighters
  • a notebook

IMPORTANT: this does require you to give me your address if you win so please make sure it’s okay with whoever you live with (parents and whatnot) to be giving me your address

The giveaway will end on AUGUST 15

If we can still enter, I’d like to enter the beginner one!

hey @ goyim could y'all reblog this if you’re actually willing to listen to Jewish people and protect us?

angryjewishsuggestion:

we really need allies right now, and I know seeing this on people’s blogs could be comforting to other Jewish people.

vaspider:

Okay, friends, let’s talk about going to protests and weaponizing our whiteness, if in fact we are white.

You know what the protesters who marched with Dr. King wore? Their best. Their clergy stoles, their suits. If you’re a doctor or a nurse? Wear your scrubs. If you’re a parent? Wear your PTA shirt if it’s too hot for a suit. If you’re a student? Dress like you’re going to go volunteer somewhere nice, or wear a t-shirt that proclaims you a member of your high school band, your drama group, your church youth group. Whatever it is, make sure it’s right there with your white face.

This is literally the tactic of the people who marched with King in the 60s, and we need to bring it back, and bring it back HARD.

I do this all the time when I go to marches. I wear my cutest, least-offensive geeky t-shirt, crocs and black pants, or I wear my t-shirt that mentions my kid’s school district, or now I’ll wear the pink t-shirt that says I’m part of the Sisterhood at my shul. If it’s cold enough, I wear a cardigan and jeans and sit my ass in my wheelchair. (I need to anyway.) I put signs on my wheelchair that say things like ‘I love my trans daughter’ and ‘love for all trans children’ or something else that applies to the event. Dress like you are going to an interview if you can, or make yourself look like a parent going to pick up a gallon of milk at the corner store. Make yourself “respectable.” Use respectability politics and whiteness AS A WEAPON.

Fuck yes I will weaponize the fact that I look like a white soccer mom. And you should do this too if you can. Weaponize the fuck out of your whiteness. If you are disabled and comfortable with doing so, turn ableism on its head and weaponize it. Make it so that the cameras that WILL be pointed at you see your whiteness, see your status as a parent, see your status as a community member. See you in your wheelchair or with your cane. If you have privilege or a status that allows you to use it as a weapon or a shield, use it as a shield to defend others or a weapon to break through the bullshit.
